Keep Reaching for the Stars

I'll read complicated stuff like this put into laymens terms and pretend to understand it. Then I come across statements like:
Furthermore, if superheavy atoms are created with Z=173, the binding energy then exceeds twice the rest mass of the electron and pair production ensues with matter and anti-matter appearing out of the vacuum. The electron is driven into the nucleus and spontaneous positrons (anti-electrons) are produced constituting a true source of free energy.
that are pretty clear in their implications. Free energy is possible.

Except that known and produced elements (yea, we can make some that don't exist in nature, but they pop out of existance in a fraction of a second) stop at an atomic number (Z) of 110 and we need element 173, or greater, to produce free energy.

So what do we do? I propose a win-win virtual-scientific approach.

We nuke the Middle East and take all their oil.

Now I'm not talking a onesey-twosey demonstration like the Japanese got away with. I'm talking a fullout barrage, day after day. Let the Wahabi's rule a kingdom on which the sun never sets for a month or two.

If a molecule of Fluorocarbon can go through a myrad of unknown chemical reactions and produce Global Warming, then a series of uncontrolled nuclear reactions may just produce a new element with an atomic weight greater then 173. If this is the case, we can mine the, er, lets call it Psyclopsium, and produce free energy. Problem solved.

We won't have to worry about the enviromentalists protesting the strip mining of Psyclopsium since there will be no trees on the Arabian Glass Shelf. Problem avoided.

If the prospecting for Psyclopsium fails to find any, we can just take the oil. The liberals have been crying since the first Gulf War that it was about oil. What are they going to do if, suddenly the find that they are right for once? Imagine their confusion if they no longer have a rant that has nothing to do with the situation at hand. No new problem created.

Since we'll then have cheap oil, we can pay 20 cents/gallon for gas. Those with a Gore for President or a Kerry Campaign sticker can continue to pay $2/gallon since they are opposed to cheap gas. Everyone is happy.

Lastly, since few muslims will survive there will also be world peace. This could be the biggest benefit.

UPDATE:
I intended to write this contrasting the Reaching for the Stars as a striving for technological advancements and possible creating an element heavier than Z=173 vs. Reaching for the Stars as a position where Mullahs and Shieks over a barrel and are robbing us. I had more fun writing the win-win solution, but decided to keep the title and explain it rather than come up with another title that fit this post.

Now we have two posts masquerading as one. The title fits and I am done. It is perfect.

UPDATE II:
Z is the atomic number, not the atomic weight. There are elements with an atomic weight greater than 173.
