Iran Enters Gulf War

I don't think anyone will officailly admit it, but Iran has entered the ongoing Gulf War as a hostile belligerant.

You will hear on the news how the insurgents are now able to aim their IEDs. That is because they are now using shaped charges and a 500 lb shaped charge is an engineered product, not something thrown together by illiterate cannon fodder. The big question is who is supplying them? Iran is supplying them.

From my point of view, that now makes Iran a participant in the war and therefore fair game.

We should bomb their manufacturing facilities and military installations and then, tit-for-tat, deny it the following day with a wink so that they know that we know that they know.

Our B-52's don't even have to go near their airspace to do this. Just launch the cruise missiles. Even though Carter reduced their range in SALT II, they can still reach out and do the job.

I'm not for escalating the war, but if we let things like this go unchecked, we'll be telling the muslim world that it is OK to get involved. We need to send the message that getting involved is deadly serious and unless you are willing to lose the things you value, you better sit it out.

Since the muslims are for escalating it, I can only assume that it is a matter of time, anyway.

Yes, I'm pissed. We lost good men yesterday and the country behind it needs to pay.

I'm also angry that those brave young men will not get the respect from corners of this country that they deserve. They have stepped into the breach and have brought the fight from our airliners to the bowels, but not the heart or brain, of the muslim world. Were they not there, I'm sure there would have been muslim acts of mayhem here in the time since 9-11.
